Welcome to my public blog, Pockets of Time. I also keep a family blog called Scooter and B: A Tale of Two Brothers, named after our two sons and their nicknames. Scooter is 11 ½, in 6th grade, and loves Lego design, while B is 8 ½, in 3rd grade, and loves math. We are in our 5th year of homeschooling, and my blogs chronicle our homeschooling adventures which entail all aspects of life. Our philosophy of homeschooling incorporates work, study, service, and play to provide a well-balanced education for our boys.
As a 30-something mom, I wear many hats including homeschool teacher, wife, church treasurer, blog author, newsletter editor, and home business owner. After graduating from college with an Accounting degree in 1991, I worked as a Legislative Auditor for 6 years before I had Scooter and decided to stay home with him. I’ve worked some part-time jobs since that time, including desk reviewer, school treasurer, church treasurer, and Young Living consultant.
Within the past year, I’ve tutored a Korean university student in conversational English and become a monthly writer at Heart of the Matter Online and a quarterly editor of our homeschool newsletter, FISH Tales.
I’ve blogged over two years at Scooter and B and almost one year on this blog. I decided to make my family blog private while writing publicly here in order to participate in memes and giveaways and keep up with everyone. Since I don’t post pictures of the boys on this blog, I posted some friends pictures instead.
