School Year Resolutions

Kelly at Pass the Torch is encouraging us to write our school year resolutions. Since we are starting our homeschool year on Monday, it seemed like a good time to write some goals for the year. Below are a few of mine.
  • Teach the kids more life skills this year, such as learning to cook a meal on their own.
  • Read aloud to the kids at night. We’ve gotten away from this bedtime ritual during the summer months, though we recently started reading Everyday Graces, A Child’s Book of Good Manners, edited by Karen Santorum.
  • Improve our prayer life. The kids and I will be keeping prayer journals this school year.
  • Maintain our Scripture reading, especially mine. We’ve gotten lax on this practice during the summer months but will become more scheduled this fall.
  • Focus on geography, at least during the fall semester.
  • Spend less time on the computer and more time with the kids.

What are your school year resolutions?

Great resolutions!

This is going to sound so lame, but - we are going to play more games! And I am not referring to computer games... oh no. My kids love cards and board games and I need to play with them, especially while they still want me to!
