What's On Your Nightstand?

What's On Your Nightstand

In addition to reading at night before bed, I read regularly during the kids’ swimming lessons and dental appointments and on the road when my hubby’s driving. After reading Safely Home, I was hooked on the author and had to read more of Randy Alcorn’s Christian novels. I immediately read Safely Home a second time and then moved on to Deadline, Dominion, and Deception. Later I read Heaven and then Safely Home for the third time. To read my review of Safely Home, please visit me at Heart of the Matter.

Now I’m reading Money, Possessions and Eternity and recently completed The Grace and Truth Paradox. I won a signed copy of the second book on the author’s blog and purchased the first one and a few others through his blog.

His style of writing draws you into the story, especially with the novels. The Grace and Truth Paradox reveals more of his personal ministry and explains Scripture very clearly and plainly. One of my favorite quotes from the book was in regard to the apostles in Acts. Alcorn wrote, "Truth was the food they ate and the message they spoke. Grace was the air they breathed and the life they lived." I highly recommend his books and can’t wait to read more.

I LOVE Randy Alcorn. I read Safely Home last year and reviewed it here:

He makes things feel very real to me. I loved it. My husband is in the middle of it now.

Thanks for sharing!

I am jealous that you can read in the car. I get so sick!

I haven't read any of Alcorn's books. I'll have to check them out!

I feel so sorry for people who get carsick. My husband always wants to drive, so I get many hours of reading in the car on weekend trips. I'm planning on logging some great reading time in a couple weeks when we leave for vacation.

I need to get better at reading during other times of the day. Such a great way to get some extra reading time in.
