My Non-Bike Ride

After a long, snowy winter, I was all set to take my bike out for a ride today. This morning I lifted the bike off the rack, wheeled it out on the driveway, and discovered the front wheel kept braking whenever I moved the bike. Apparently, the brake pads edged closer to the wheel over the winter and I’ll need to make a trek to Trek for a tune-up. Since the boys had their bikes ready, they suggested I ride the electric scooter so we could all head to the park. And that’s exactly what we did.

Though I didn’t get any exercise on the electric scooter, I tried to keep up with the boys by climbing, spinning, and swinging at the park. It was peaceful and joyful to watch them play together, cramming into a giant plastic goldfish and yelling “Oh!” every time the goldfish hit the ground. Though I didn’t accomplish anything on my to-do list at the park, it gave me time to reflect and think, a much needed respite in the middle of a busy week.

Fun and relaxing time at the park with the kids... one of my favorite things to do in the summertime.

Enjoy your weekend!
